Living Amidst the Lavender
We were lucky enough to be able to spend 2 weeks in the lovely inn Georgia Perrin has developed in Provence. From the fabulous breakfasts served on the patio to hours lazed away reading in one of the garden niches, each day was a delight. As a host, Georgia was amazing — she always had suggestions of places to go and was more than willing to make dinner reservations at local restaurants. We couldn’t have found a better place for an amazing French countryside vacation.
Worth repeating over and over again!
I’ll start my review by saying that my husband and I try not to repeat trips. We like to try new places, new cities every year! And this B&B, Le Lavandin, is so good, that it keeps us coming back! We love it here! This is our second time here! There is just something in the air that makes you feel serene, relaxed and peaceful! The B&B is just immaculate. Georgia, the owner, has impeccable taste! The furnishings are beautiful! And then there’s breakfast! The breakfasts are exquisite! The detail that she puts in giving you homemade breads, jams, parfaits, etc. Just delicious! The location is superb! Easily 30-45 minutes from just about every important town worth visiting in the Provence Area. The location is really unbeatable! But the one thing that keeps you returning is that it just feels like home! You feel like family returning home from a day of sightseeing! Georgia takes care of you in such a way that it’s just so welcoming and inviting. I absolutely love it here! I can’t praise this B&B enough.
Paradise for 9 nights
Le Lavandin was recommended to us by a friend and it was even better than what she said it woudl be. he property is truly fantastic, filled with lavender, roses, many flowering bushes, gorgeous trees, a swimming pool, a fountain, and a a labyrinth. We walked the peaceful property every day. From the property you can walk along a canal to the village or bike and she has those for you as well. The other great thing about this property is how convenient it is to everything in the region. We had planned to stay four nights, but we liked it so much we decided to spend our entire time at this heavenly place. Our room was lovely and spacious with a large living area, huge terrace and summer kitchen. She has books, bikes, a grill and you can do your laundry if you are having an extended stay. Georgia, the owner, went out of her way to make this visit special. Maybe one of the most special things about the experience was having Georgia take such good care of us. She initiated some very special experiences for us, suggesting dinner at a lovely vineyard (amazing), made lunch reservations for us at fantastic restaurants, and shared information about the markets and things both to see and skip.
Georgia gave us maps and sent us off with a delicious homemade breakfast every morning. Perhaps the only problem is that you might be tempted to stay at Le Lavandin and not see all of the other beautiful things in Provence. We recommend this place without reservation. Don’t miss this one!
You may not want to leave Le Lavandin
Le Lavandin, and its owner, Georgia Perrin, can’t be captured in words. So, no matter what I write here, know that this wonderful little Bed and Breakfast in Provence is even more delightful and charming and beautiful than anything I can say about it! You must go in person and I recommend that you do so before you plan another vacation anywhere else!
After my husband and I spent time at Le Lavandin last year, we were so enamored of it and Georgia that we decided to bring our children back this year. We just spent a full week there, with our entire family, including adult children and spouses and young grandchildren, 12 of us in all. Every one of us, from ages 3 to 62, are in love with this place. Every aspect of Le Lavandin has been envisioned and created by the remarkable Georgia Perrin, and she and her equally lovable assistant Rashida are the most gracious hosts you could possibly ever imagine. Together they serve an extensive and gorgeous breakfast every morning, and Georgia also doubles as a veritable fount of information for where to go, what to do, who to ask for–she is a concierge extraordinare. But you may not want to leave this beautiful, private property and its world class gardens, impeccably clean and tastefully decorated rooms, and numerous charming patios and common areas. Every aspect of Le Lavandin has been fashioned with attention to detail and is intended to nurture the senses and feed your soul. Plenty of space for both private retreat as well as group gathering. I could go on and on, but simply put, Le Lavandin is a magical place.
“A Gorgeous Place to Stay, Glorious Grounds, Gourmet Food: And Great Company Besides!”
We’d heard wonderful things about Le Lavandin for years but it exceeded all our expectations. The gardens, the pool, the maze…..It’s all exquisite and completely restful as well. Georgia, the owner, is the perfect host, warm and welcoming, we met fascinating people from all over the world and ate one fabulous breakfast after another. A local chef will come in and cook a dinner, and of the many great meals we ate in the surrounding area, nothing compared to the food that night. It was divine.
We spent our days alternately ripping around the beautiful countryside, wandering through lovely towns,, peering at Roman ruins, and headinng back to our patio at Le Lavandin, meaning to read but gazing at the incredible view instead. I think it’s our favorite vacation ever–and we have some terrific new friends along with the lovely memories. We’re going back as soon as possible!

This B&B will forever have a special place in our hearts
We had three wonderful days here at this really gorgeous place. The first night we had two of our grandchildren booked to stay with us and when our son rang to say he had a flat tyre on his way to Paris, Georgia offered to make room for him in our apartment without the slightest hesitation. Considering this was a holiday week- end (Bastille Day) she really was an answer to prayer! The garden was huge and a dream to walk in, enhanced by the lavender in full bloom. Georgia is the most gracious person and totally makes this special place, even more special. Breakfast served in the garden was delicious. We travel extensively and have stayed in many a beautiful places but this B&B will forever have a special place in our hearts. It is very well situated and so close to L’Isle sur la Sorgue which is a great place for the markets and music and food and very pretty as well! We went to the local village of Pernes les Fontaines twice for dinner at a restaurant called Cote Jardin. It was excellent and did not break the bank either. Thank you Georgia, we hope to return when we holiday in France again in two years time!
Stayed July 2013, traveled with family
Simply Fabulous!
My husband and I stayed with Georgia four nights this month and loved every second we were with her at Le Lavandin. As many other former guests have written, Georgia Perrin has created an extraordinary bed and breakfast in the Vaucluse region of Provence. The house for guests is a structure Georgia remodeled based upon the framework of an older building that was part of the property at the time she purchased it. However, what she designed and furnished is absolutely modern, a structure reminiscent of a small chateau in its outside appearance, with four spacious rooms–plus there’s a studio, all decorated beautifully, in neutral colors and appointed with furniture that harkens back to the French neoclassical era, also in neutral tones. The beds are quite comfortable, electrical outlets are plentiful–she graciously provides travelers with an adapter and a flashlight in each room, and the bathrooms are, likewise, spacious and elegantly furnished. …..
One of the most beautiful aspects of Le Lavandin is the landscaping. The gardens! They are beyond compare! They reflect the natural landscape of Provence, with stretches of lavender,…….The pool area is another highlight of the landscape of Le Lavandin. It’s quite sizable, big enough for doing laps to work off the excellent breakfasts Georgia and her helper, Rashida, prepare and serve. My husband could have spent every minute there in the pool.
Georgia is an excellent host in every way. She’s terrific at pointing out attractions in the area, providing maps to help you get there, suggesting restaurants or markets for food, and booking reservations for lunch, dinner, or even a massage. And, need I mention, the breakfast is delicious!…
Le Lavandin is extraordinary in every way . . . a true reflection of its warm, generous creator, a woman of vision, wit, and grace, someone with high standards and excellent taste. You will never be sorry you stayed at Le Lavandin. Quite the opposite! You’ll be counting your pennies and the days until you can return again.
There is no better place to be your base of operations in Provence!
The owner, Georgia Perrin, has created a wonderful little retreat. Gorgeous grounds, extremely hospitable care, the best breakfasts you could hope for. Georgia is also an excellent guide! To aid you in your travels she will give you a huge road map and every trip you want to take will be outlined with a colored highlighter and some destinations will come with her personalized, pre-printed driving directions. I recommend the upstairs rooms in the guesthouse because they come with a terrace and corresponding view (but they do cost extra). I can’t say enough about this wonderful, wonderful place. We spent 8 days (9 nights) at Le Lavandin and then left for London. But we wish we had done it the other way around to end our vacation here!
Room Tip: Upstairs in the guesthouse gives you a semi-private terrace but the cost is higher.
A little piece of heaven in Provence
My husband and I have just returned from our 8th stay with the incomparable Georgia at the most amazing Le Lavandin. It really is a little piece of heaven in Provence. There is really no way to describe all of the wonderful days that pass during your visit from markets in the tiny villages surrounding Pernes, to the incredible restaurants that Georgia will direct you towards to the scrumptious breakfasts that will begin your day under the blooming trees in Georgia’s garden.
If you have a bucket list, Le Lavandin should be on it.

Very well located in the heart of Provence
We spent 5 incredible days at Le Lavandin and wish we had stayed longer! It is very well located in the heart of Provence with many wonderful day trips. But we had a hard time dragging ourselves away from Le Lavandin itself! The rooms and common areas are so inviting– with lots of little details which make it above and beyond anything you would expect. Georgia is a wonderful host and is full of great information and recommendations for restaurants, markets and other attractions. It is lovely just to wander in the gardens, find a little hidden spot to sit and read or just watch the lavender grow. Highly highly recommended. We will be back!
A Slice of Paradise
For the fourth time, we stayed at Le Lavandin B & B in Provence in June, 2014. It is a slice of paradise situated near a small Provencal town, Pernes-les-Fountaine. Georgia, the innkeeper, is in her 14th year, after moving from the US to France to build this oasis surrounded by gorgeous gardens. The breakfasts are substantial and varied, and Georgia provides personalized planning for exploring the small towns of Provence. The lodging, in a guesthouse with 4 beautifully but simply furnished rooms plus a studio apartment, is complete with an ample patio overlooking Provence, and an outdoor kitchen. There is also a pool to enjoy, a beautiful lavender field and gardens with tables and chairs. Don’t miss this jewel in Provence-it is the perfect place to launch an exploration of the region. We will definitely return! Website: lelavandinprovence.com
Room Tip: The guest lodge is 2 stories; we enjoy one of the 2 rooms on the second story as there is a patio
Fantastic, restful place to use as a home base for exploration
Le Lavandin is run by an American hands-on host who couldn’t be more helpful. It’s a beautiful relaxing atmosphere with a pool and fantastic breakfast. Georgia will make dinner reservations for you and offer suggestions of where to visit in the region.
