The price is 2150 Euros per workshop attendee based on double occupancy*, and includes:

  • The five day workshop
  • Six nights accommodations
  • Les Aperitifs and hors d'oeuvres to welcome you on Sunday
  • Petit dejeuner— french breakfast
  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday you will dine on your creations paired with appropriate wines
  • Cheeses and wines for an extravagant tasting experience
  • Group dinner at an outstanding provencal restaurant

Note:


A 50% nonrefundable deposit will be collected at the time of reservation. The remaining nonrefundable balance is due 90 days prior to the workshop. If the reservation is made within 90 days of the beginning date of the workshop the entire fee will be due at time of reservation.

If you are making a reservation from the U.S., a conversion from Euros into dollars will be provided at time of reservation along with detailed instructions as to how to make the deposit. Checks for payment in Euros will be accepted for reservations from European Union countries. All payments are nonrefundable.

In this time of increased unpredictability, your host strongly recommends travel insurance to protect against loss of fees due to cancellations. Please consult your travel agent. In the event that Le Lavandin should cancel any reservation or workshop, all moneys paid shall be returned.

Come and join us for an unforgettable culinary experience in the South of France-learn the secrets of the world's most revered cuisine.

We will explore a variety of French farmer's markets while purchasing our daily fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs from local producers. You will learn about fabulous French cheeses and wines along with hands-on culinary instruction and knife skills in a casual, unparalleled atmosphere. You will create three spectacular multi-course Provencal menus, complete with wine pairings, as you cook side-by-side with chef and culinary educator Jim Light. You will also receive a complete booklet with all of the recipes (including follow-up photos) together with "how to" instructions to recreate your experience at home.

On the off days, you are free to tour the many wineries or visit the perched villages of the Provence. Le Lavandin is at the doorstep of the Cotes-du-Rhone, the second largest wine producing area in France after Bordeaux. You will enjoy being in and among the myriad antiquities that make the Provence so extraordinary. At the Inn you will have the opportunity to sun, swim, bike, hike, stroll, read, doze or do nothing!!

Jim Light, a life long culinarian, is executive chef/owner and founder of HomeCooks Culinary Adventures, a cooking school in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is an Honors Graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He is also a recipient of the Medal of Merit, presented by the preeminent honor society, L'Academie de Gastronomie Brillat-Savarin, a Society within the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Jim has taught thousands of students in hundreds of classes and has cooked professionally in fine dining establishments located in New York, Utah, and Wyoming.
