About Karen Brown's Guides
"An unbeatable combination of good taste, accurate descriptions,
and travel savvy make these guides indispensable." -- Martin Rapp,
Travel & Leisure

"We spent a week at Le Lavandin in early May and found it
to be as lovely as we had hoped from your description in Karen Brown’s
France B&B: beautiful grounds bursting with flower gardens, olive
trees, lavender, and the biggest, most incredible roses we’ve ever
seen. Our second-floor room with patio/veranda had great views of
the countryside. The guest house was immaculate, tastefully decorated
and filled with books and flowers. There are many places to relax
throughout the property among the gardens on patios, verandas, by
the pool. Le Lavandin’s owner Georgia knows Provence well and helped
us plan our sightseeing excursions and map out our itineraries.
Her suggestions as to which markets to visit, places to see, restaurants
to eat at were so valuable and appreciated. The location is convenient
to all of Provence and provides a good base for touring/day tripping,
or, if you want, just relaxing."

"Owner, Georriga Perrin is the consummate hostess and her
joie de vivre is contagious! Le Lavandin is the perfect combination
of impeccable details, unique luxury and cozy warmth. The rooms
are works of art, exquisitely appointed from the lovely linens to
the spectacular views. The amazing and delicious breakfast at Le
Lavandin feels like a legendary fête. We enjoyed exploring the incredibly
beautiful landscape and surrounding areas - to be sure, magic and
mystery can be found in the ancient villages of the Luberon and
the Vaucluse. Georgia is delightfully helpful and knowledgeable
about where to go and what to see, providing fantastic suggestions
and maps! Being at Le Lavandin for The French Chef's Week was an
experience of a lifetime that exceeded all my expectations and not
to be missed by anyone in love with cooking and French cuisine!
We will most assuredly return to Le Levandin, a wonderful place
I now call heaven on earth."

Rebirth in France
by Tom Wharton
Leaving a successful Utah real estate career to open a bed-and-breakfast
in southern France might seem out of the ordinary. ButGeorgia Ball,
who moved to Salt Lake City in the 1960s and was a founding partner
in the Ramsey Group in 1984, is no ordinary woman. read

"It is very hard to decide whether this beautiful inn, its
grounds or your hostess,Georgia, is the most sensational. I think
we would have to vote for Georgia--the perfect hostess, this lovely
lady combines impeccable taste, a fabulous flair and exceptional
intelligence with warmth and charm. Every inch of Le Lavendin reflects
these qualities. The pool and grounds are magnificent (even with
the lavender no longer in bloom) and the guest house is worthy of
being featured in design magazines (as it is). The setting is beautiful,
the nearby towns of Perne-la-Fontaine and Isle sur la Sorgue are
all one could wish for in the way of charming Provencal villages--including
wonderful food. But I would go back just for the breakfasts--the
fabulous table settings, eating beneath the spreading branches of
a centuries old tree, Georgia/s company and the unbelievable food.
Trust me--the walnut bread French toast is, as Michelin would say,
worth the journey.
The rooms, the views, the beautiful guest house sitting room are
all spectacularly attractive. Two minor quibbles--the bathroom in
"the studio" where we stayed is tiny--however it is beautifully
designed and equipped and its size was no problem. There is no housekeeping
service provided during your stay, though as we two couples were
the only guests, Georgia was more than happy to provide same for
us--graciously, in addition to providing other special help and
touches.
Location is wonderful with the entire Luberon and Valcluse incredibly
close by. I hesitate to let the secret of this amazing place out
but I am counting on Georgia to have room for us when we return."

"A wonderful B&B. The accomodations are first rate as is the
owner Georgia Perrin and her dog Utah. The property is charming
with breakfast (scrumptious) served outdoors. The rooms are spacious
and charming. Georgia is remarkable for her accomplishments as well
as her guidance in exploring Provence. Of all the places we stayed
throughout France, Le Lavandin was the crème de la creme."
